How will this training benefit you and your organization?
So you think you're in control? Every organization that uses
a computer system in their business also runs the risk of
computer misuse.
Discover the potential for computer abuse
During a recent investigation, for a client who suspected
a fraud, we discovered another employee downloading child
pornography and yet another person operating an Internet fraud
from his workstation. We were able to prove using our software
that the fraudster was in fact a previous employee using his
new employer's systems.
In another case – in discussions with IT security of
a large multi-national we advised the client on the issues
of identifying pornography from the Internet – to provide
acceptable classifications for them to act on in different
jurisdictions. The Law & Penalties vary tremendously –
from a maximum life sentence in China (for the ‘gravest’
offenders), 10 years in prison in the UK, through to no offense
in Japan. Cerzán is aware of the complexities and the
national sensitivities when dealing with multiple jurisdictions,
and has advised, accordingly.
Learn about your liabilities
Fraud, industrial espionage and data loss (malicious or accidental)
could be devastating to your organization. Also, widespread
abuse of the Internet and Email, inappropriate material stored
on computers around your organization, and distribution of
that material all adds up to serious crime – and your
organization and its key directors could be liable. A fact
realized by few, but of utmost importance to many, including
human resources.
Gain an appreciation of IT risks
We will provide you with an appreciation of the IT risks facing
a modern organization. Be it through your internet connection,
your network data storage system, email system, or backup
procedures, the course will cover the various areas of risks
that you face, and the preventative measures that can be adopted
to minimize these risks.
Learn of the power of computer evidence
In complex civil litigations and criminal legal cases, computer
evidence has proven to be so strong that protracted court
cases have been abandoned and either settled out of court
or caused defendants to enter guilty pleas saving court time
and costs.
We have probably seen the results of more disasters than any
other organization – Twin Towers, Baltic Exchange, Terrorist
Attacks in Ireland, Floods, Fires, Hacking by ISPs, attempts
to cover tracks by employees and other suspects, insider trading,
arson, failed secure deletion, failed encryption, planted
Trojans and Worms, plain old-fashioned Fraud, and Bugged Offices
– the list is endless.
Find out how to minimize the risk
Our clients are banks, insurance companies, government agencies,
computer manufacturers, software companies, secure data backup
systems, legal firms, police departments and others. Disasters
and crime pay no heed to boundaries, nationalities, type or
size of business – they are only minimized by careful
risk analysis and careful testing of an accurate disaster
plan – but even with the best plan, disaster can and
will strike.
